Appointment of Senior Offshore Construction Specialist 07/10/2016

Axis Energy Projects is pleased to welcome Larry Kelly to the role of Senior Offshore Construction Specialist.

Larry began his career as a Sat and Air diver in the North Sea in the 1970s and went on to become a Dive Supervisor and Superintendent on global projects.

Subsequently, Larry became the longest serving offshore construction manager with Subsea 7, and held various senior offshore management positions with all prior iterations of the company including Wharton Williams, Rockwater and Halliburton Subsea.

Larry’s role will be to provide support on offshore installation activities as we expand our scope of supply to include the installation and operation side of our projects.

On his new position, Larry said: “I am delighted to have joined Axis Energy Projects and to be part of such an experienced team.

“I first worked with John (Managing Director of Axis) when we were diving together in the 1970s and am pleased to have joined him and his team once again.

“I am excited by the challenge of working for a small company at a very competitive time and look forward to offering my experience in offshore construction to further their success.”

Larry’s first task was to assist in the installation planning of two recently awarded FEED studies.

John Baross said: “We are delighted to welcome Larry to the team and to have his expertise at our disposal.

“There are very few people who can claim to have a similar level of experience as Larry, and so we take it as a reflection of our reputation, and a vote of confidence in our ambition, that he decided to join us.

“We previously focused our efforts on structural design and project management but have evolved our offering to provide turnkey solutions including equipment provision to meet the needs of our customers.”

As a result of our increased workload Larry is one of a number of new staff to join the company this year.
